The Candy Classroom has spent this past week volunteering for the Fine Arts Festival at Celebration Church teaching “Candy Creation”.  This has been a great experience!  The Fine Arts Festival is a yearly event at Celebration Church.  Consider checking it out for 2013!

Hot Cocoa Dippers

Ingredients
Marshmallows
Melted Chocolate
Crushed Mints

Supplies
Stir Sticks
Gallon sized zip lock bags

Hammer
Square Cake Pan
Cookie Sheets
Waxed Paper

Directions
1.    WASH YOUR HANDS!!!
2.    READ the recipe.
3.    PLACE mints in a gallon bag.
4.    SMUSH with hammer.
5.    PUT crushed mints in a square cake pan.
6.    LINE a cookie sheet with wax paper.
7.    STICK a marshmallow on a stir stick.
8.    DIP marshmallow into chocolate.
9.    ROLL marshmallow in crushed mints.
10.  PLACE marshmallow on cookie sheet.  
11.  SET until hardened.

Fancy Pretzels

Pretzel Rods
Melted Chocolate
Candy Decorations

Supplies
Cookie sheets
Wax paper
Paper
Plates

 Directions
1.  COVER cookie sheets in wax paper.
2.  PUT decorations on paper plates.
3.  DIP pretzel in melted chocolate.
4.  ROLL in decorations.
5.  PLACE pretzel on wax paper.
6.  LET chocolate set.

Caramels

Ingredients
1 cup Butter
7 ounces sweetened condensed milk
2 cups Brown Sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup Corn Syrup
1 teaspoon Vanilla

Supplies
Large microwave safe mixing bowl
Mixing spoon
Rubber Spatula
Cake pan
Non-stick cooking spray
Measuring cups
Measuring spoons
Wax paper for wrapping caramels
Big knife for cutting caramels
Hot pads

Directions
1.    MELT butter in large mixing bowl.
2.    ADD sweetened condensed milk.
3.    ADD brown sugar.
4.    ADD salt.
5.    ADD corn syrup.
6.    MIX with spoon.
7.    COOK 4 minutes in microwave.
8.    STIR
9.    COOK 15 minutes in microwave.
10.  STIR.
11.  ADD vanilla.
12.  LET sit 10 minutes.
13.  SPRAY cake pan with cooking spray.
14.  POUR caramel into cake pan.
15.  LET sit until set.
16.  CUT waxed paper into squares. 
17.  REMOVE to cutting board.
18.  CUT caramels into small pieces.
19.  WRAP in wax paper.

Ingredients
Powdered sugar
Water
Graham Crackers
Candy Decorations

Supplies
Bowls
Mixing spoons
Measuring cup
Tablespoon
Paper Plates

Directions
1.  PUT ½ cup powdered sugar in a bowl.
2.  ADD 1 Tablespoon water.
3.  MIX
4.  ADD water only until glue is spreading consistency!  
5.  PLACE graham cracker on plate.
6.  SPOON glue onto graham cracker canvas.
7.  DECORATE your picture with candy decorations.
